JitterBook respects your privacy and we will do our
best to earn and keep your trust. This Privacy Policy
identifies how we collect, use and protect the Personal
Information you provide to us when you visit this site.
JitterBook respects your privacy a great deal. This privacy policy covers what personal information we do collect from you, when we collect it, how we use it and how it is protected
What Personal Information Do We Collect and How Is It Used?
- Information you
actively submit to JitterBook.
While you can actively navigate throughout the JitterBook site without giving us any personal information, if you create an account, complete a buyback order or contact us, we will require some personal information from you in order to complete the transaction.
JitterBook only gathers information needed to complete the transaction. This includes first and last name, email address, primary mailing or shipping address and telephone number. The telephone number is optional but is useful if there is a problem with your order and we need to reach you quickly.
We use the Personal Information described above to mail you your buyback check, provide customer support, and communicate with you. JitterBook does not currently use the information you provide to market its products and services to you.
Except as described below, JitterBook will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent.
JitterBook may disclose personal information to government and regulatory authorities as permitted or required by applicable law, to enforce or apply the terms of any of our policies or user agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of JitterBook, our users, or others.
JitterBook is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of other websites that may be linked to or refer to this site. Any site that we don’t host will be subject to the third parties' privacy policies and not those of JitterBook.
- Information anonymously
collected on the web site.
The information JitterBook collects is similar to what is automatically and anonymously collected by most websites including a visitor’s IP address, browser type and referrer by reading this information from your browser.
JitterBook uses cookies to help recognize you to create a better user experience. You can disable cookies in your browser; however, certain sections of the site will not work correctly if you do so.
How Is Your Personal Information Protected?
JitterBook maintains reasonable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information, to protect the Personal Information from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure. Nonaffiliated third parties are contractually obligated to maintain strict confidentiality, and are not permitted to use your Personal Information for marketing purposes, or for any purpose other than that we have requested of them. To further secure your Personal Information:
- We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to prevent Personal Information from being intercepted and read as it is transmitted over the Internet. The encrypted data goes to a secure site where your information is stored on restricted-access computers located at restricted-access sites.
- We cross check an email address with the submitted password to validate access to any JitterBook customer account.
- We do not allow any email address to access more than one JitterBook account. When a new JitterBook account is created, we require you to submit an email address that is not associated with an existing JitterBook account.
- We encourage you to use a
password that is not easily determinable (e.g., don't
use your name or street name). Keep your password
secure; do not share it with anyone. The password is the
"key" to your account; anyone who gets this "key" can,
along with your email address, gain access to your
account.
- If you forget your password, go to the My Account log in page and click on the “Forgot your password?” link, and then type in the email address of the account you would like to open. A message will be sent to your email address with instructions on how to access your account and change your password.
- If you want to change your password or other account information, simply log onto your account and follow the instructions.
- We encourage you to remember to sign out. To further prevent unauthorized access to your account, remember that after you sign in, you should sign out once you have (i) completed your transaction, (ii) completed managing your account, or (iii) decided to step away from your computer. Anyone who accesses your computer after you have signed in but before you have either signed out or your session has timed-out can access your account.
How Can You Access Your Personal Information?
To access, correct or delete your Personal Information stored by JitterBook, please log in to the My Account page and update your information.
How Will You Know If We Change Our Privacy Policy?
JitterBook may, but is not required to, update this policy from time to time. Accordingly, you should periodically check this web site for any changes.
