Eligibility: The “Bonus
Bucks” contest is open to legal residents of the United
States 18 and over with the following exceptions:
Residents of Rhode Island are not eligible to participate.
Individuals who submit more than $2000.00 worth of buyback
quotes over the course of 3 months (regardless of whether
the individuals send the books to JitterBook or not) are
ineligible to play Bonus Bucks. Employees of JitterBook, affiliates, subsidiaries, resellers, advertising
and promotional agencies and their immediate families are
not eligible to play the contest. JitterBook has the right
to decline eligibility to an individual for any reason if we
find that they are abusing the rules and intent of Bonus
Bucks. All federal, state, local or other
jurisdictional laws and regulations apply. Offer void where
prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.
By checking that you agree to the terms and conditions
upon submitting a quote, which contains the official Bonus
Bucks rules, user acknowledges that they are eligible
to play the Bonus Bucks Contest.
No purchase is necessary to enter the contest; any one
meeting the eligibility requirements may create a quote.
However, JitterBook must receive book buybacks for an
individual to be eligible to win.
How to enter:
Create a quote on JitterBook.com. Creating a quote requires having a textbook(s) that JitterBook is willing to purchase, creating an account with JitterBook and agreeing to the terms and conditions and official contest rules set forth by JitterBook. Use the free shipping label to return the book(s) to JitterBook. Meeting the above eligibility requirements, creating a quote and agreeing to the JitterBook terms is all that is needed to enter the contest, however, the winner is determined as outlined below.
How the winner is chosen:
After a customer creates a quote, they send the textbooks to JitterBook and are received into the JitterBook warehouse. The books are checked to ensure that they meet all acceptance criteria set forth under the JitterBook Terms and Conditions. Based on the acceptance criteria, the original quote is validated and a final price paid for the book is determined. ONLY THE VALIDATED AMOUNT MATTERS FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CONTEST. JITTERBOOK DETERMINES THE FINAL VALUE OF THE BOOKS YOU SEND. ALL DECISIONS ARE SOLELY AT OUR DISCRETION AND ARE FINAL.
On a daily basis, JitterBook tallies the highest buybacks of all quotes marked as “Payment Sent” for that day that meet the eligibility requirements set forth in these rules. Highest buyback is defined as a single quote that has the highest dollar amount under $2000.00 paid for all books in that quote that has been marked “Payment Sent” on a given day. Quotes in any other state including Waiting for Books, Cancelled, Received, and Expired are not eligible to win but may become eligible if they are moved to the Payment Sent state.
If there are new quotes marked as Payment Sent that day,
the person with the highest buyback quote in the Payment
Sent state is chosen to be the eligible winner. The eligible
winner’s first name, last initial and quote number will be
listed THE NEXT DAY on the JitterBook web site’s main
landing page.
Each day that there are no new quotes marked as Payment
Sent, JitterBook will continue to choose the winner from the
last valid highest buybacks, moving consecutively down the
list (second highest buyback, then third, then fourth) and
posting the eligible winner the following day. The most
recent highest buyback marked as Payment Sent will supersede
any older highest buyback in the same state, regardless of
amount.
In the case of a tie (two quotes on any one day marked as
Payment Sent having the exact same dollar amount and being
equally the highest buyback price), the quote with the
lowest quote number is determined the first highest buyback
and the other tied quote is determined to be the second
highest buyback.
Posting of eligible winner:
Each day, the eligible winner’s first name, last initial and the winning quote number is posted on the JitterBook main landing page starting just after 12:34am PST and ending at 12:34am PST the following day. ACTUAL AND OFFICIAL TIMING OF THE ELIGIBLE WINNER'S NAME IS DETERMINED BY OUR DATABASE SERVER TIME. There is no other communication to the individual that they are eligible to win. JitterBook is not responsible or liable for eligible winners who fail to come to the site and claim their prize. Prize is only awarded if eligible winner follows the below steps to collect the prize. Prizes not claimed within the posted time will not be awarded.
Collecting the Prize:
If an individual sees their name on the JitterBook main
landing page and feels that he or she may be a winner, they
must perform the following steps to claim their prize:
1. INDIVIDUAL MUST LOG INTO THEIR ACCOUNT.
2. INDIVIDUAL MUST SEE THESE EXACT WORDS ON THEIR ACCOUNT
PAGE: “I WON! PLEASE SEND ME…”
3. IF THIS IS DISPLAYED ON THE USER’S ACCOUNT PAGE, USER
MUST CHECK THE “SEND MY MONEY” BUTTON.
If the eligible winner does not perform the above actions,
they forfeit all potential prize money and forfeit any claim
to the prize money. JitterBook is not liable for any damages
or loss resulting in the inability to log into the account
and claim the prize, including network outages or other
server malfunctions. Eligible winners MUST follow the above
steps to claim any prize money.
Upon successfully claiming the prize, the winner will
receive an email notifying him/her that they have officially
won and will receive a check in the amount stated within 10
business days.
The Prize:
JitterBook will give one person per day the eligibility to claim a prize worth a value of at least $50.00 USD. If an eligible winner does not claim their prize, unclaimed prizes will not be awarded and the amount unclaimed is added to the following day’s potential winnings for the duration of any calendar month. Contest is reset at the first of each month regardless of unclaimed prize money. Total value a person is eligible to win is ultimately determined by the number of preceding unclaimed prizes, but cannot exceed more than $50 multiplied by the number of days in a given month minus days left in said month. Any unclaimed prize money at the end of the month is forfeited and is not carried over to the next month.
Odds of winning:
The odds of winning a prize varies depending on number of entries and the value of the textbook(s) sent to JitterBook.
Additional rules:
JitterBook shall be held harmless and indemnified of any
and all liability resulting from an individual playing the
Bonus Bucks Contest. This includes lost or partial
shipments, server or network outages, an event of force
majeure, including any and all acts of nature, war, invasion
or any other catastrophe manmade or natural, inability to
connect to the internet, log onto the individual’s JitterBook account, or discrepancies in timing resulting in
missing the window of eligibility.
Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes. By
entering the contest, entrants (a) agree to the official
rules and the decisions of the judges which shall be final
in all respects; (b) consent to the user of winner’s names
and likenesses and any statements, quotes, testimonials
provided by the winners to reprint, display, and exhibit the
winning entry for advertising and publicity purposes without
further compensation except where prohibited by law; (c) and
release JitterBook and its subsidiaries, affiliates,
directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all
liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind
caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession
or use of any prize. Winners agree that JitterBook, its
advertising agencies, affiliates and employees shall have no
liability in connection with acceptance or use of the prizes
awarded herein.
